<p>The Allison-Deaver House is the oldest standing frame house in Western North Carolina. It was built in 1815 by Benjamin Allison. He built the house based on the design of row house in England and America''s east coast. It is a two-story three-over-three room frame house. In 1840 the house have double in size and by 1860 the Charleston inspired double porches were added.</p>

<p>The Silvermont Mansion is a 33-room Colonial Revival mansion located on an eight acre county park in downtown Brevard. It includes a woodland garden, tennis courts, basketball courts and a playground. The mansion was built in 1917.</p>
<p>The two-and-a-half-story mansion has rooms that are two deep with paneled wainscot with handsome millwork. The front entrance opens into a center hall with a wide, open-string staircase. The mansion also has a conservatory and a grand parlor.</p>
<p>The Woodlawn Garden has many native plants and the Learning Garden has vegetables, fruit bushes and pollinator plants grown in season, plus a Rain Garden that manages storm water on the property.</p>
<p>The second floor museum shows the era and lifestyle of the original Silvermont family. The second floor museum is open on Fridays from 2:00p - 4:00p during the months of March to October.</p>
