Falls Park on Reedy River is located in downtown Greenville's Historic West End. Greenville is 42 miles and 30 miles south of Hendersonville. The park has several restaurants along the river banks and you can also bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the gardens in Falls Park. There are 20 acres of gardens in the park showcasing a variety of flowers. So, take a stroll though the park a enjoy the many gardens and flowers.
The Liberty Bridge is a curved suspension bridge that spans across the Reedy River. The bridge is 345 feet long, 12 feet wide and 8 inches thick and the concrete reinforced deck is supported by a single suspension cable. It is an impressive site because of the distinctive curve and is cantilevered toward the waterfall from supporting cable on the outside. Below the bridge is the 28 foot Reedy River Falls.
While bridges with similar structural concepts have been built in Europe, this bridge is unique in its geometry and there is nothing like it in the United States.
